This book is a blend of the principles of Ignatian spirituality and life experience. Tracking through desire, discernment, prayer and grace Margaret Blackie offers some pointers on living a life of faith.
In the author’s words: ‘What I most love and value in Ignatian spirituality is that it is a spirituality which teaches us to deal with desire…Ignatius was not afraid of the chaos of daily life. Rather he was utterly convinced that God is present in all of it. If we can just bring ourselves to pause for long enough to notice, we will not be able to miss God’s presence in our lives.’
Mags Blackie is a credible witness to a life Rooted in Love. With generosity and profound insight, she explores how the deep treasures of Ignatian spirituality shed light on our journey into the heart of God. Through her wisdom, born of her own intensely reflective faith-experience, she becomes our trusted guide and companion along the Way. I warmly commend this book to anyone who wants to bring their everyday life and faith in God together in more life-giving way.

Margaret Blackie has done a wonderful service to readers by distilling the essentials of Ignatian spirituality into a short and reader-friendly book. With great humility she shares her own experience of how this spirituality has helped her to develop a deep and meaningful relationship with God. Readers will find her a compassionate and down-to-earth guide to developing their own relationship with God and thus finding more meaning in their lives. I recommend this book.
