This book is looking at the leadership, especial the church leadership. The author has looked at all spheres of leadership, but all are looked in the eyes of servant leadership. The main point of writing this book is to remind each one who is called to be a church leader that, it is not about status, but to serve. Therefore, if we are called to be servant leaders, it means we are to be humble leaders in the service of God, and know that we are not called to master because we have one master who is Jesus, who, himself had a choice to be a servant.
The author is challenging those who have a responsibility of leading to bear in mind that God’s calling is not for higher status, but for those who choose to be humble. When there are people who think that it is more about improving the status, we will always have people who are fighting to go for higher status, rather than to be humble and allow God to use us for his work. The implications of seeing God as being in the higher place leads to the notion that being in higher places or having higher status is to be closer to God; and that leads to the point of undermining those who cannot be respected and seen as being in higher positions in our societies. God’s calling is not about higher status, but it is a serving responsibility. I pray for those who will be reading this book that God may bless them, and give them more spiritual discernment so to dig deep on the will of God about the work related to him.
